Sam Frangos is a highly accomplished CEO and elite goalkeeper coach with a wealth of experience in football coaching and management.
As the CEO of Goalkeepers United Academy since 2015, Sam has cultivated top-tier goalkeeping talent, drawing on his extensive qualifications including AFC/FFA ‘B’ and ‘C’ Licences and advanced goalkeeping certifications. His career is marked by pivotal roles at Melbourne City Football Club and various NPL clubs, where he has excelled as a goalkeeper coach, technical director, and head of goalkeeping academies.
Sam’s coaching expertise is reflected in his impressive roster of athletes. He has had the privilege of coaching notable goalkeepers such as Matildas' Lydia Williams, Danish international Thomas Sorensen, Reading FC’s Dean Bouzanis, and Adelaide United’s Eugene Galekovic and James Delianov. His guidance has also benefited Central Coast Mariners’ goalkeepers Yaren Sozer and Lawrence Caruso, among many others currently playing in A-League senior teams.
Sam’s contributions extend to the international stage, including his role as a goalkeeper coach for the AFC U/19 Women’s Qualifiers in Myanmar. He is renowned for his clear communication, leadership, and commitment to mentorship, consistently helping goalkeepers achieve their peak performance.
